Microsoft Store: developer account

Set up Partner Center and a Windows Developer Account before adding CI credentials.

To distribute via the Microsoft Store you need a Partner Center account. Then associate Microsoft Entra ID and create an app registration for the Store submission API.

Create Partner Center

  1. Open partner.microsoft.com/dashboard and sign in with a Microsoft account.
  2. Register as a Windows app developer and complete identity verification.
  3. Note your Seller ID under Account settings → Legal info / Identifiers.

Associate an Entra tenant

  1. Associate a Microsoft Entra ID tenant with the Partner Center account (reuse an existing tenant or create one).
  2. Ensure you have admin rights to manage Entra apps and Partner Center users.

Create the Store product

  1. Create the Windows app product in Partner Center.
  2. The first submission and age ratings are typically done manually in Partner Center.
  3. Note the Product ID / Store ID for project binding in the Application Platform.
